I love using the KiPro mini with the Sony PMW F3. But I've always bumped into problems with it. The menu options are tough to navigate, it's hit or miss whether or not it recognizes the CF cards, etc. But with the new KiPro Quad, the game could be changed for good. This KiPro, records to a Solid State Drive and is capable of recording in many more formats than the mini's AppleProRes.
Here's a quick overview of the new KiPro:
-4K/Quad HD/2k/HD Solid State Video Recorder
-Supports 10-bit 4:4:4 and 10-bit 4:2:2
-Debayer and ProRes encode to on-board 4:2:2
Realtime pass-through of RAW data via Thunderbolt
-Dedicated HD monitoring via SDI and HDMI
-Record to edit-friendly 4K, 2K, or HD ProRes files on removable SSK media
-Offload ProRes files to your non-linear edit system via AJA Thunderbolt SSD reader
